【Economic Daily News】Living Fountain Green Plastics Forum: Vice President Listens to Suggestions

In the face of global ESG net-zero carbon reduction issues, Living Fountain recently held a forum on industrial development and policy direction under the circular economy at the company. Vice President Lai Ching-te, Legislator Lin Ching-yi, Living Fountain Chairman John Chan, and over a hundred industry representatives participated in the event, which saw enthusiastic responses.

Chairman John Chan of Living Fountain pointed out that in the post-pandemic era, the U.S.-China trade war, the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and global inflation have led to unprecedented challenges for Taiwan's economy. Despite the presence of Taiwan's semiconductor industry, the prolonged period of these issues has left the industry in dire need of government support. Issues raised during the symposium, such as COOLBIT's proposal for clean air in Long-Term Care 3.0 and Xiang In Enterprise's water-based printing inks to address air pollution, were swiftly and effectively addressed by Vice President Lai.

Vice President Lai highlighted that his administration has always prioritized economic development, listening to the voices of SMEs, and systematically reviewing Taiwan's investment environment and tax reforms. With global inflation and inevitable interest rate hikes, he emphasized the importance of sustainable corporate development. He praised Living Fountain's commitment to innovation as a core business strategy. Since its inception in 1991, starting with a 3.5cc dispensing pump, the company has focused on environmental protection and the circular economy. Living Fountain has now developed reusable tableware that does not harm humans with plasticizers and promotes effective recycling, thus avoiding environmental pollution. Lai stressed that reducing plastic usage is less impactful than encouraging reuse. He called Living Fountain a prime example of corporate innovation that not only withstands external environmental influences but also significantly contributes to environmental protection.
